I’ve been back in New York a little over a month now and I have decided to pick the blog up again. Originally, I was going to keep this section about Kyiv, but I was inspired to write again after a quite bizarre walk this past Friday.
It was one of those crazy foggy mornings that remind me of my favorite cartoon and make everything generally mysterious. Over the course of a 30 minute walk, I came across such a peculiar variety of scenes, that I thought I may have stumbled into some kind of David Lynch-esque alternate universe. Some highlights:
- a spear fisherman and some kind of religous ceremony sharing the water by a jetty
- a couple gettin’ rowdy under a blanket (I guess they thought the fog would be cover?)
- a man in red silks practicing martial arts
- a blowfish
As walks on the beach go, this one was one of the more interesting and its these mornings that make a 90 minute commute worth it.
